Chi Phi Theta
12 boys become men
24 March 2017 Cedar City, UT
12 boys become men after being initiated into the Chi Phi fraternity on the 6th of November, 2016. These new members went through an eight week training course that taught them about Greek life, leadership, chapter history, and brotherhood. These men are now voting members of the Xi Theta chapter of Chi Phi.
These 12 men started there journey by choosing to attend rush events at Southern Utah University during the second week of the fall semester. By doing so, they were chosen by the Brothers to receive a bid to pledge to the fraternity. A total of 13 bids were given out, but one person was unable to meet the obligations of membership. These men were then under the care of the Iota, which is the new member educator. The Iota for Xi Theta at the time was Tyler Ilgen. He taught them for eight weeks until they were ready for initiation. Mr. Ilgen used assessments to see where the new members were excelling and what topics needed to be touch on again. He was proud that all of his new members were up to the challenge, and are now his brothers in the fraternity. These new men are the future leaders of the fraternity. ###
